Joanna Barrington, founder of JB McLeod Consulting, relocated from Toronto to Northumberland County with her family in 2021. She has harnessed over 21 years of dedicated experience within the non-profit sector, building transformative strategic partnerships. With a passion for cultivating relationships and a proven track record of leading teams to raise over $200 million for non-profits, Joanna stands out as a trusted advisor in the philanthropic landscape.
At United Way Greater Toronto, Joanna provided overall leadership to a team of professional fundraisers and senior volunteers, developing and implementing customized giving and volunteering programs to meet the evolving needs of corporate partners. She oversaw all major bank fundraising programs and led cross functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans that delivered upon the giving strategies of partners as well as corporate CSR strategies.
At WWF-Canada, Joanna led corporate relationships at a variety of levels, specializing in sponsorships, cause-marketing campaigns, point of sale, community activation, sustainable merchandising, employee volunteerism and engagement. She was the key advisor to internal teams and external clients on corporate communication and marketing strategies, breaking down complex conservation issues, and identifying the business case for engagement.
Joanna founded JB McLeod Consulting to help non-profits with limited resources reach their fundraising goals via short-mid term contracts, keeping their cost per dollar raised low but keeping their impact high.
